Around 2023 Local Law Enforcement went into my MyPay account to change the name of my SGLI beneficiary to my mom and to change the forgot password recovery question answers so that I would have no way of accessing my MyPay account to change my life insurance beneficiary.
Back when I was in Oklahoma before discharging from the Military I remember talking to the lady at the Family and Readiness Center—who was in charge of Veterans SGLI’s before they got out of service.
When speaking to the lady at FRC in Oklahoma I remember telling her that I wanted to opt out for VA life insurance because I did not think it was relevant.
Then magically sometime between 2021 to 2023 I check my MyPay account and there is a name of a beneficiary for VA life insurance on there. On the website before logging in you are required to check mark a box that asks if you are the person who is logging into the account.
Whoever logged into my account did so and broke the law. I changed the beneficiary to another person and that is when someone changed my forgot password recovery questionnaire answers.
I just want to make it clear that the only time I labelled my parents for my life insurance was when I was in the Military service. Word got out that I was getting out and they started to go crazy because that means that they no longer have entitlement towards my life insurance.
